Hillary Clinton became the first First Lady elected to the US senate on this day in 2000. Magic Johnson shocked the basketball world by announcing he was HIV positive on this day in 1991 and in Wales, in 1982, it finally became legal to enjoy an ale at the pub on a Sunday.
